Key Responsibilities:

 

1. To understand project design and participate in planning and project activity implementation

  • Read and understand project design document, project budget and the proposal narrative.
  • Actively participate in monthly project implementation planning and resourcing in collaboration with project coordinator.
  • Correctly compile procurement document in a timely manner to acquire goods and services required to implement project activities as per the project DIP and approved monthly Plan of Action (POA).
  • Organize members of the community into working groups for reaching with planned activities.
  • Develop training IEC material in English and in Pidgin for the target farmer groups.
  • Organize training sessions and train targeted groups
  • Support communities implement planned activities as per project design.

 

2. Foster an interdependent working culture amongst the local target

communities  

  • Implement projects activities through multi-sectoral approach – using participatory processes to involve every sector of community membership.
  • Collaborate with community self-help groups, built relationships and gain the trust of the members of the local communities.
  • Actively engage transparently with community leaders, women’s groups, and youths to understand local community dynamics so that everyone is involved and engaged in the project activities to gain total community support.

 

3. Maintain networks with other NGOs & Government authorities

  • Liaises with ward councilor, village chiefs, women leaders, youths and other members of the target   communities to moblise members of the target communities to actively participate in project activities.
  • Build working relationship with provincial and district staffs to draw technical support.
  • Work with CBOs, youth groups and other agencies in the communities to share skills and knowledge on relevant themes for implementation.
  • Share lesson learnt with stakeholders in the district and province.

 

4. Monitoring, evaluation and reporting

  • Assess and evaluate the progress of the project activity against DIP on a monthly basis.
  • Collect and keep relevant information & data of the project and submit to the project supervisor on a monthly.
  • Compile monthly Activity Implementation Report
  • Maintain Confidential written records.
  • Ensure adherence to reporting requirements.

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Degree in Biology, Tropical Agriculture or Environmental Studies.
  • Prior experience in working with coastal communities
  • work experiences in conducting skills imparting training for rural farmers on small livestock and food and
  • cash crop cultivation, especially around food security impacted by climate change variability.
  • Good knowledge on Climate Change and/or DRR
  • Good knowledge and skills on community mobilization and agricultural extension services.
  • Computer skills
