The Corporate Services and Facilities (CSF) department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has one (1) immediate opening for a Projects Officer. The selected candidate will work in the department’s Information, Resilience, and Services (CSF:IR) Division. The division provides a diverse portfolio of administrative services including IMF-wide Resilience and Business Continuity functions, Data and Information Services, and several high-touch, client facing services (Fitness Center, Shipping Services, Mail Services, and Staff Accommodations Services). Additionally, the division leads the work on environmental sustainability at the IMF to reduce the impact to the environment from IMF’s operations. The responsibilities of the division also include the secretariat functions to IMF’s Health, Safety, and Environment Committee (HSEC).
The Projects Officer will be responsible for various assignments to support different work areas of the division focusing on performance and operations. The roles and responsibilities of the Projects Officer will include:
- Supporting the work in the high-touch service areas across the division to ensure the division’s goals and objectives to enhance service user experiences are being met, with a focus on execution, service delivery, and monitoring.
- As part of the division’s budget management practices, coordinate and monitor the utilization of budget/financial resources, monitor project cash flows, coordinate budgetary adjustments, and prepare divisional budgetary reports on regular frequency.
- Ensure the procedures of the division’s services delivery contracts are being followed: monitors expenditures in relation to vendor service partners, supplier financial performance, and provide analysis on resource utilization including the mapping of service delivery to key performance areas.
- Provide input, coordinates, and supports the division’s client engagement and communications strategy.
- Complete and maintain benchmarking exercises for the division for comparative analysis with peer organizations and private sector entities; identify best and cost-effective practices. Looking at areas of service delivery, staff recognition, and client/stakeholder satisfaction.
- Coordinate the division’s technology solution needs with relevant stakeholders including the division’s operational data management and analysis to improve our web presence and leverage technology tools in service delivery.
- Complete other divisional assignments and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of a relevant advanced university degree. Alternatively, a university degree and six years of professional experience is required.
In addition to the qualifications above, the successful candidate will have the following experience and skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with staff at all levels in the department, the division, and vendor organizations.
- Basic knowledge and familiarity with budget and financial management procedures and practices – and working knowledge of financial systems.
- Strong communication skills including oral and written.
- Be flexible, detail-oriented, have a willingness to learn, and maintain a strong team-oriented attitude.
- The ability to logically organize and work with large quantities of data.
This is a one-year contractual appointment. Contractual appointments at the IMF are renewable for up to four years of cumulative contractual service, pending incumbent’s performance, budget availability and continuous business need.
