DRC is looking for Protection Assistant-Receptionists*2 (Madaba and Ma’an) who will be responsible for managing the general office space, welcoming people to the office, checking to make sure all arrivals have an appointment time, answering the main office phone line and directing families within the office, and register new clients on data base.

A receptionist should be a strong communicator with experience managing a small-mid size office and demonstrated experience working with vulnerable families and/or individuals. He/she should maintain a friendly and professional demeanor to ensure refugees feel comfortable and safe in the office environment. Experience working with vulnerable children and youth considered a plus.

About the job

The individual will report directly to the Project Manager. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Reply to all incoming calls (internal or external) from beneficiaries and employees in a professional manner.
  • Document all beneficiaries’ incoming calls and document all inquiries and problems.
  • Register all visitors’ names and their data using DRC special database system.
  • Welcoming all visitors, beneficiaries or employees in a tactful way.
  • Ensure to provide a perfect service to all beneficiaries with full-up-to-date information.
  • Keep the reception organized and clean.
  • Disseminate leaflet and Information to all walk-in case so they are aware of DRC services
  • Support with Outreaching and conducting Surveys when needed
  • Other responsibilities as requested by the direct supervisor.
  • Support DRC Jordan accountability efforts in ensuring that beneficiaries are aware of the proper CFM channels to report complaints and feedback.
  • Check the CFM complaints box in the community center and support in receiving and logging in person complaints as per internal procedures.
  • Assist in conducting the MEAL activities that requires physical presence by MEAL such as post and end-line assessments.
  • Support with Outreaching and conducting Surveys when needed

About you

  • Bachelor degree in community service or any related field
  • At least 1 year relevant work experience with similar functions, including basic work with Reception role;
  • Strong people skills, particularly verbal and written communication;
  • Basic ability to work with computer and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Conscientious and efficient in meeting commitments;
  • Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges;
  • Familiarity with DRC program and operational procedures a plus.
  • Outspoken person able to inform about community center services.
