Pre Hire Checks Requirements: Depending on the nature of services of this contract, if the consultant if traveling to RI field operations they will require Advanced pre contracting checks.

SCOPE AND NATURE OF THE SERVICES:

We are looking for a Protection consultant to support Program Development and Technical assistance teams in designing RI’s program in Chad, focusing on provision of emergency and humanitarian support to Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad.

Relief International (RI)’s program focus would be in line with the program inside Sudan and will be focused on provision of primary health care and nutrition in some of the newly established camps in Chad. RI will integrate components of WASH in its programming and ensure having protection mainstreamed across its activities.

The Consultant will advise on the design of the activities so we can ensure the protection mainstreaming and will work with program development in developing proposals as needed.

It is expected that the role is focused on key areas of GBV, CP, Counter Trafficking and General Protection in the design and presentation of this program.

You will bring protection programming expertise and proven experience in developing proposals, GBV, Child Protection, Counter Trafficking and General Protection.  You will have previously worked to be key member in designing programs and activities, for the emergency and humanitarian support of refugees.

Key Outputs

• Supporting the information collection efforts from the field, using secondary information or through participating in clusters meetings that would enable having a good understanding of the context and the needs of the refugee population, as well as understanding the protection needs, gaps, and risk
• Work with other technical teams to design and provide the road maps, activities and components of a comprehensive protection mainstreaming plan in line with our program focus and activities, – This should include case management and referral plans for GBV including psycho-social support and additional support aimed at addressing survivor needs, design and development community level interventions to address protection needs and risks, focusing on youth, women and children
• Serve as a subject matter expert for GBV and Child protection for proposal development. Work with program development team in consult with Country Office staff to lead the technical writing and review for all protection mainstreaming, child protection and GBV related programming proposed as part of design in order to develop Concept Notes a and full proposals. In tandem with the Regional Support Office and Country Office team
• Represent RI as a technical expert to donors as part of the design process
• Provide regular updates and reports to RI staff as required
• Other tasks as requested during the consultancy period
