DRC is looking for an experienced Protection Officer (Case Management) in Ma’an office, DRC will contribute to enhancing the self-protective capacity and well-being of displacement-affected communities through the provision of Outreach, Case Management and cash for protection Assistance (CFP) in [Maan].

About the job

The individual will report directly to Team Leader-Protection/ South. Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Provides outreach to targeted communities to explain about DRC Case Management and CFP services.
  • Provides case management services to displacement-affected communities in line with DRC’s Case Management and CFP SOPs. This includes assessing cases (in some case through home visits), developing & implementing a case plan (including making referrals), conducting regular follow ups (including case conferences), and closing cases.
  • Participates in individual and group supervision sessions to review complex cases.
  • Assesses cases requiring CFP and enters case recommendations on DRC’s Case Management and CFP database.
  • Processes the issuance of ATM cards for approved CFP cases (including raising PRs), and supports in the distribution of cards.
  • Ensures all case management and CFP documentation is accurate and updated in a timely manner on DRC’s Case Management and CFP database.
  • Provides periodic reports on the progress of case management and CFP cases.
  • Ensures DRC maintains an accurate referral pathway matrix for the base.
  • Facilitates community awareness sessions, and other project activities, as requested by the Protection Team Leader or Protection Specialist (Case Management).
  • Works with the MEAL team and Protection Technical Unit to ensure case management activities are of high quality.

About you

Required / Desirable

  • Bachelor/ Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or other related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in protection work in international organizations and humanitarian settings, specifically including the provision of case management;
  • Experience in providing trainings and building capacity of staff would be an advantage.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and prioritize the safety and dignity of beneficiaries at all times;
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
  • Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
  • Flexibility in working overtime when needed;
  • Previous experience working with refugees in Jordan
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic & English
