Mission and objectives
The Frontier Tech Leaders Programme is a joint initiative of UNDP Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) SDG AI Lab and UN Technology Bank for Least Developed Countries and supported by the Government of Türkiye. The Frontier Tech Leaders Programme aims to raise a new generation of tech specialists to strengthen local capacities and develop digital solutions for the LDCs (Least Developed Countries) towards achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). Furthermore, the initiative will inspire young people as well as promote gender equality, encouraging women to pursue tech education and careers.
Context
As part of the Frontier Tech Leaders Programme, the volunteer will contribute to the improvement and maintenance of Python-based educational resources. This includes ensuring that Jupyter Notebooks and associated materials remain accurate, relevant, and aligned with the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
Task Description
The online volunteer will be responsible for: Reviewing, updating, and refining Python Jupyter Notebooks to ensure accuracy and relevance. Ensuring all Python-based materials align with programme objectives and SDG priorities. Debugging Python scripts and resolving technical issues in provided content. Improving clarity and usability of documentation accompanying Python content. Implementing minor updates or features to enhance the usability of educational materials. Maintaining updated versions of notebooks on GitHub and ensuring proper versioning practices.
