Your team

Within the Directorate Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre, The “Safety, Quality & Security (SQS)” service manages MUAC’s safety, quality and security processes. The service is also responsible for activities required to develop and maintain the MUAC Management System including the monitoring of its operation. It ensures compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements.

Your role

Your role will be to:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Define and implement quality control measures to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing processes and systems.
  • Conduct and review technical risk assessments (e.g., functional hazard, failure mode, effect analysis, etc.).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to the process definitions and overall alignment in process execution.
  • Guide and advise managers/specialists on matters related to quality assurance (policies, procedures, processes, tools, etc.).
  • Facilitate quality-related training programs and workshops to promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness within the organization.
  • Perform internal and external audits (e.g., supplier audits) to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to projects and oversee different quality initiatives; monitor their progress, execution and completion.
  • Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • Completed university studies of at least 4 years, in a relevant area (Engineering, etc.)
  • In addition to the above a minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience
  • The following certificates would be considered an asset:
    • Prince 2
    • (Lean) Six Sigma
    • Or any other quality management certificates
  • Experience in quality assurance or quality management roles, preferably in a regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with relevant quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Drafting skills in English.
  • The following would be considered an asset:
    • Experience in one or more of the following methodologies: ITIL, AGILE, or classical Waterfall
    • Experience in an ATM or similar safety-critical environment

  • The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1. The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

  • The selected candidate will be offered a contract of 5 Year(s) pursuant to the provisions of the Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL. The contract may be renewed. Before being established in the post, he/she will be requested to provide certified copies of his/her degrees and successfully serve a probationary period of 9 months.
  • The successful candidate shall be engaged in principle at the basic grade of the advertised grades.
  • Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications.
