Mission and objectives
ERONet (Enabling Rural Opportunity Network), formerly known as the Agoro Community Development Association (ACDA), is a grassroots organization based in Northern Uganda. Since its inception, ERONet has been committed to empowering marginalized communities, with a strong focus on women farmers who face displacement, gender-based violence, and economic instability due to conflict.
Context
Women farmers in this region are critical to food production and local economies, yet they lack the resources and support needed to thrive. ERONet aims to address these gaps through initiatives that promote sustainable livelihoods, gender equity, and resilience. This task directly supports ERONet’s advocacy efforts by raising awareness about the challenges these women face and fostering global engagement. By increasing visibility and generating conversations around these issues, we aim to inspire collective action toward long-term solutions that ensure a brighter future for women and their families.
Task Description
ERONet is looking for the support of 20 dedicated volunteers to help raise awareness about the challenges faced by women farmers in Northern Uganda. Volunteers will: Develop creative and engaging content to share on social media platforms. Promote awareness campaigns through blogs, posts, and discussion forums. Help build a network of supporters by fostering dialogue and understanding around gender-based violence and economic empowerment for women. Volunteers will not be asked to solicit funds but will focus on spreading awareness and generating support for ERONet’s initiatives.. At the end of the assignment, all volunteers will receive a UNV Certificate of Appreciation for their efforts.
