Transparency International is a global movement with one vision: a world in which government, business, civil society and the daily lives of people are free of corruption. With more than 100 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, we are leading the fight against corruption to turn this vision into reality.
Transparency International is currently seeking a Research and Policy Coordinator (m/f/d) to join the Research & Knowledge Team and provide research and policy support to the implementation of Transparency International’s Climate Governance Integrity Programme (CGIP).
The CGIP intervenes to reinforce accountability from local to global level, and throughout the whole chain: from policy development to project implementation and monitoring. The CGIP has been active at the national, regional, and global level, working with more than 20 TI chapters implementing programme activities across Africa, the Americas, and Asia Pacific. Since its creation 10 years ago, the programme budget has been around EUR 800K per year and is anticipated to grow significantly for the next years.
The TI CGIP programme strategic goals 2030 are as follows:
The Research and Policy Coordinator will contribute to the implementation of this agenda by providing research and policy support to generate the evidence for conducting evidence-based advocacy at the national, regional and global levels.
They will analyse cases of climate corruption and design methodologies to improve the effectiveness of climate social accountability measures, as well as engaging with TI national chapters to promote and follow up on research findings and concrete advocacy opportunities.
They will conduct research on the independence of environmental bodies and undue influence in climate policy making as well as corruption risks in national climate strategies and global funds. In conducting and coordinating research activities, the Research and Policy Coordinator will put a special emphasis on investigating the linkages between corruption, gender equality, social inclusion and climate governance to address the knowledge gaps at the intersection of climate, corruption and gender.
