PURPOSE

The purpose of this Consultancy is to make a research proposal (template will be provided) to be developed with input from Amnesty and agreed with Amnesty before progressing the assignment.

Deadline for all applications: 31/10/2023

Rate: USD 232 Per Day

OBJECTIVES AND DELIVERABLES

The research proposal should detail:

  • data sources including interviewees
  • time allocated on the ground and provisional dates
  • schedule of check-ins with Amnesty during the scoping
  • deadline for delivering the report and structure of report
  • budget required for all expenses

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • In-depth understanding of contemporary Laos and its economic, social, and political landscape
  • Knowledge of and experience working with civil society in Laos
  • Demonstrated experience of investigative and/or research methodologies
  • Ability to write and present clearly in English
  • Proficiency (both written and spoken) in Lao is highly desirable

BIDDING INSTRUCTIONS

  • expected fee and expenses

As standard, payments are made by Amnesty International 30 days after receipt of a valid invoice for the agreed work milestone completed.
