About the position
The Research Coordinator I, will be responsible for the technical validation of bio-based fertilizers through pot and field experiments. The primary objective is to design, implement, and monitor field experiments to assess the effectiveness and suitability of bio-based fertilizers in the RUSTICA project.
The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-develop with the supervision of the line manager, experimental protocols and methodologies for pot and field experiments in collaboration with project partners. Determine appropriate variables and measurements for assessing fertilizer performance.
- Assure quality developed protocols and methodologies with the support of the manager.
- Prepare and organize materials, equipment, and resources required for experiments
- Oversee the planting, maintenance, and care of experimental crops in both pot and field settings.
- Regularly monitor the growth, health, and development of crops in experimental plots.
- Collect and record data related to crop performance, fertilizer application, and environmental conditions.
- Analyze collected data to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of bio-based fertilizers.
- Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing the findings and implications of the experiments.
- Handling and application of agrochemicals.
Requirements
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomic Engineering, Agricultural Science, or professional careers in related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in agronomy and agricultural production.
- Experience in conducting pot and field experiments in agricultural settings.
- Experience as an agricultural extensionist, working directly with farmers to provide guidance and support, is a strong asset.
- Knowledge in agricultural waste valorization, optimized fertilizer use, and GHG emissions from agriculture are assets.

Terms of employment
This is a national recruited position placed at a BG06, on a scale of 14 levels, with level 14 being the highest.
This is a Colombian national search and will be managed through a fixed term contract of a one (1) year period, subject to a probation period according to the local legislation and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
