The Health Economics and Financing research group is based at the Health Systems and Population Studies Division of icddr,b. The research group works to conduct quality research in the field of health economics and health financing to prioritize resource allocation within the health system and to remove financial barriers to healthcare for all, including the marginalized population.

Position Description:
The Research Investigator will report to the Associate Scientist. The position holder will be responsible for planning, directing and conducting the implementation of research activities with the objective of collecting relevant research data for creating knowledge within the guidelines of the research protocol and organizational values and guidelines (such as Institutional Governance Framework – IGF and Gender Diversity Guidelines). S/he will be involved in –

• Work with PI in developing new research proposal/protocol and overall strategy to implement the research studies/projects;
• Generate new research ideas and develop research protocols
• Coordinate quantitative surveys, and train data collectors (specifically for health economic data collection)
• Oversee field activities; identify areas of improvement and provide necessary assistance as and when required, oversee data processing
• Carryout analysis for economic evaluation of health programmes and other statistical analysis
• Prepare reports and scientific papers;
• Disseminate study findings;
• Liaison with major stakeholders and maintain collaboration with research partners

Required qualifications and experience:

• Masters in Health Economics with good academic records;
• At least 5 years’ experience in the relevant field. Candidates having working experience in health economic research including economic evaluation of health programmes and evaluation of Government Sponsored Health Protection Scheme for Poor Population and Scientific Publications in peer-reviewed journals will get preference.

Contract Type and Duration:

• CSA; duration will be 3 Months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk 1,21,585/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidised canteen, transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
