The Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (AdSEARCH) project of icddr,b aims to improve sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes and realize rights among different population groups with distinct SRH needs in Bangladesh. iKnow is an app-based knowledge platform under the AdSEARCH project, which particularly focuses on Workplace Abuse (WPA) including Workplace Incivility (WI), Workplace Bullying (WB) and Sexual Harassment (SH).

Position description:

The Research Officer will report to the Principle Investigator (PI). He/ She is expected to contribute in public health under the guidance of the PI. Some of the specific responsibilities may include (assist the PI in):

• Conduct literature review;
• Analyse data;
• Draft concept notes, protocols, reports and manuscript;
• Prepare and deliver presentations;
• Support in project coordination and implementation;
• Assist in budgeting and financial management.

Required qualification and experience:

• Master’s degree in relevant discipline (such as Public Health / Social Science/ Population Science/ Statistics/ Applied Statistics/ Biostatistics/ Epidemiology/ Nutrition/ Development Studies/ Bioinformatics/ Information Technology/ Health Economics).
• Strong interpersonal and excellent communication and writing skills in English.
• Must have strong critical thinking skills, ability to identify substantive problems and creative capacity to resolve these problems. S/he should be proactive, dynamic, and capable of working independently.
• 3 years of relevant experience. Candidates who have publications in international peer-reviewed journals with significant contribution will have preference.

Location: Mohakhali Campus, Dhaka

Contract Type and duration:

• Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 9 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk. 57,048/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and day care facilities are subject to space availability.
