Key Responsibilities:

The Research Officer reporting to the Senior Research Investigator will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, managing data, implementing project activities assuring quality with the objective of supporting research studies within the guidelines of project-specific research procedures and organizational values and guidelines.

He/she will be responsible for-

• Perform Lab tests based on direction from supervisor;
• Enter laboratory tests data in work sheet; Error checking;
• Prepare report from the results and share with supervisor;
• Carry out tests using Automated Chemistry and Immuno Analyzers;
• Perform basic immunology related Lab assays e.g. ELISA, CLIA, Turbidimetry based assays, RT-PCR;
• Optimize or set-up new laboratory methods required for the studies;
• Check adherence to quality assurance processes from collection to reception by the laboratory;
• Perform different laboratory techniques such as HPLC, Atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS);
• Train new team members and Lab technician on common Lab assignments (sample receipt, processing and storage following standard practice);
• Oversee tests done by new team members;
• Monitor and track consumption of resources.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Masters with B.Sc. Honors in Biochemistry/Microbiology/Chemistry from any reputed University or Medical Technology (Laboratory) with Masters in Biochemistry/Microbiology.
• 3 years relevant experience required. Candidates must have knowledge and experience in the operation of chemistry and immunochemistry analyzers, and/or Atomic absorption spectrometry .

Location: Dhaka

Contract Type and duration:

• Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 11 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• 57,048/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
