BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The Ethiopia Country Office (CO) is recruiting a Risk Officer to fill a new position that will be responsible for data protection and due diligence; the role will proactively review controls around data protection, ensure timely due diligence on all activities, and provide relevant training and oversight on the implementation of reassurance action plans. The Risk Officer will develop and implement data management procedures and tools to support end-to-end coordination, trend analysis, and recommendations for control-strengthening actions and manage all internal and external reporting requirements.
The successful candidate is a self-starter with experience in data management, case management, risk management, and compliance with a UN agency. The selected candidate will be onboarded for an 11-month appointment. Regular travel to WFP field offices is expected for this role.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Advanced University degree in audit, law, business/public administration, finance, international development, or another relevant field. Certification in Risk and or any data management is an added advantage e.g. CISA, IT audit, etc.
Experience:
At least three years of relevant professional experience in a humanitarian or public sector organization in one or more of the following areas: programme operations, data management, risk management, and fraud prevention, internal audit, investigations, or similar role.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE:
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English.
