JOB DETAIL

 

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking to assemble a roster of consultants to assist the organization with its output in times of high demand and workflow with Resource Mobilization.

The selected people will be part of a database of professionals who will be hired at different times of the year, according to the demand for work.

Scope of Work:

Under the guidance of the CIP’s Resource Mobilization Director or the Resource Mobilization Manager, the selected professionals will be enlisted to write and/or manage selected proposals and to provide support to the RM Team on specific strategic donor engagement activities, research projects, and other tasks upon request.

The contract awarded to the consultants in this process will enable CIP to engage their individual services without further assessment of their capabilities and they will be paid competitive rates.

 

Objective:

  • Responsibilities include providing proposal development support to CIP scientists and administrative staff ensuring efficient and effective quality throughout the proposal development process.
     

Roles and responsibilities:

  • The consultants will work under the guidance of the Director of Resource Mobilization or as delegated by the Director.

 

Duties and deliverables:

  • Proposal development support, including:
    • Serving as proposal technical writer and/or manager,
    • Integrating/editing the drafts,
    • Providing focal support to proposal teams,
    • Coordinating with CIP country offices and Lima RM Team, and

 

Requirements

Qualifications/special skills:

 

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience (as a science communicator/writer/researcher with publications record and evidence of writing for a general audience) with international/national research organizations and/or international donor agencies that support research and development projects.
  • A PhD or master’s degree in social science or physical science field related to CIP’s mandate
  • Proven ability to edit and produce high-quality written content in English based on scientific outputs produced by the project team.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Proven experience of working with the government, civil society, international organizations and donors, desired.

Expected duration and conditions:

  • This consultancy contract is for several months within the calendar year.
