Post Context
The Joint Force Command Norfolk (JFCNF) provides a Joint Headquarters to plan, prepare and conduct operations to support NATO’s core tasks at the Joint Operational Level, as directed by the SACEUR.
The Command Group (CG) supports the Joint Force Command Norfolk Headquarters Commander (JFCNF HQ COM) in his involvement in all issues requiring a decision/recommendation.
The Office of the Commander (OCOM) supports the Joint Force Command Norfolk Headquarters Commander (JFCNF HQ COM) in his involvement in all issues requiring a decision/recommendation by the COM.
The Management Directorate is responsible for the integration, coordination and implementation of services and activities to support, facilitate and contribute to the full JFCNF mission spectrum. The Directorate advises and assists the COS on the implementation of policy and related issues.
The Information and Knowledge Management Branch (IKM) is responsible for ensuring that the right information in the right form is available to the right people and is of adequate quality to satisfy the demands of the organisation.
The Information Hub Section (InfoHub) is responsible the information life cycle for JFCNF. This includes the management of internal and external correspondence; progressing CG decisions, actions and requirements within the JFCNF staff; and overseeing CG workflow including coordination and de-confliction of CG calendars and administering battle rhythms.
Reports to: Senior Business Analyst/Team Leader
Principal Duties:
His/her duties are:
1. Control and develop the task staffing process across the HQ.
2. Decide and allocate actions as tasks, in cognizance of CG direction and guidance, to relevant Divisions and Staffs for appropriate release against set targets in time.
3. Coordinate and prioritize staff workflow across the HQ.
4. Monitor and chase progress of achievement of allocated tasks by Divisions.
5. Negotiate target times for taskers, resetting timings as appropriate.
6. Responsible for the provision of information support to Command Group, as well as the support in its meetings to record decisions and actions.
7. Assure the quality of staff products received from the Divisions for distribution to the Command Group.
8. Coordinate and facilitate the HQ routine, with particular responsibility for CG involvement.
9. Plan workflow processes for and directly or remotely support deployed HQ elements as required.
10. Undertake work as part of a project team or working group as directed or assigned.
Essential Qualifications
1. University Degree in library, information science, management information systems, computer science or related discipline and 4 years post related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 5 years post related and 2 years function related specialty.

a. Professional Experience
1. Previous staff experience at large HQ, Joint Command, NATO HQ or MOD. Wide experience in office communication and information systems. High level of organizational, coordination and communication skills.
b. Education/Training
1. NATO Information Knowledge Management (IKM) Course (JPL-AA-2678) provided by NATO – School Oberammergau (NSO)

He/she takes the necessary adaptability to keep both own and colleagues’ skills up to date.
Managerial Responsibilities: No reporting Responsibilities.
Professional Contacts: He/she must develop high level relationships with external organisations, HQs and agencies. he/she is responsible to assess and evaluate risks and to understand the implications of new concepts, technologies and trends.
Contribution To Objectives: He/she executes leadership and influences and persuades at senior management level.
Security Clearance
The successful applicant will be required to apply for and receive a NATO Secret Security Clearance prior to final confirmation of contract and commencement of employment.
Work Environment
He/she will be required to work in a normal office environment.
Contract
· This position is linked to a specific NATO project and is for a limited duration of 3 (three) years only.
· Serving NATO International Civilian staff will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations. Newly recruited staff will be offered a three year definite duration contract.
