Fruits and Vegetables for Sustainable Healthy Diets (FRESH) Initiative
Cleaning and analysis of village data from Arusha and Kilimanjaro Regions
Background
Under FRESH (Fruit and Vegetables for Sustainable Healthy Diets), a recently launched One CGIAR Initiative, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) implemented a survey to understand fruit and vegetables consumption and vegetable production in Tanzania. The survey was conducted in the Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions of Tanzania between October 2023 and January 2024. Data were collected at the village and household levels in 33 villages. At the village level, a quantitative questionnaire was used to collect data on village demographic structure, infrastructure, employment characteristics, access to facilities, water tables, distance to markets, and quality of power supplies, among other key characteristics.
