About the job

Based in The Hague, Netherlands you will join the Agency as Senior Architect (Collaboration Solutions), bringing your expertise to NATO Digital Workplace Centre (NDWC) as we embark on a journey to transform our IT services to support NATO’s Digital Transformation.

NDW is accountable to the General Manager for the consolidated Agency consultation and collaboration services that comprise the current Digital Workplace, covering the operational NATO services, across all content classifications and security domains, for desktop computing, mail, instant messaging, video teleconference (VTC), content services platforms, telephony, printing and mobility services. Responsibilities also cover the organisation and support of all digital events, meetings and large-scale conferences for both the Agency and NATO stakeholders. Furthermore, the NDWC also has the responsibility for driving the future roadmaps of these services across the NATO Enterprise to enable a NATO Digital Workplace through new services.

Specifically you will join the Service Design and Engineering team. As Senior Architect (Collaboration Solutions) you will be responsible for the architecture and design of all NDW services including technical input and support to the implementation of NDW related projects and services in the areas of Workstream Collaboration, Workspace Services, Content Platforms and Digital Events. The support includes all aspects in the areas of strategy, policy, process and application/capability design, acquisition, implementation, transition, operation and continual service improvement. The NDWC Collaboration Solutions Expert must have a strong passion for enhancing NDW’s Collaboration and Digital Events services and must provide excellent customer engagement. The incumbent must have impeccable relational skills and can create a win/win environment for everyone

About you

We are looking for a talented and knowledeable Senior Architect who holds a minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a Computer Science or related discipline with substantial Information Technology (IT) content and 3 years post-related experience; Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.

Yiou will have a minimum of 3 recent years experience with a comparable array of complexity and responsibility. Supervision of permanent or project-oriented organizational teams is essential. We also require; extensive experience in software solution architecture and the design and engineering of solutions within the area of Digital Workplace and the application of agile solution development methodologies; Relevant experience in the application of architecture frameworks; Relevant experience in developing solutions for Cloud Computing environments; Experience in motivating and harmonising the work of assigned staff as well as demonstrate tact and sensitive political awareness as a member of multinational teams; Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential.

Please note that ALL SELECTED CANDIDATES, with the exception of currently employed NATO International Civilians (NIC’s) will be appointed at the first Increment of the indicated NATO Grade, i.e. NATO Grade X, Increment 1.This is the salary referred to in this vacancy notice.

Selected candidates who are not nationals of the host country and who have not been continuously resident in the host country for at least one year may be eligible for an expatriate allowance. For the purposes of determining continuous residence, NATO considers mainly the work location at the time recruitment started, independent of whether various ties were kept with the home country.
