The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO), Digital Transformation Office Division (DTO), Business Processes Unit (BP) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Senior) Business Processes Officer*.

This is a full time position at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.

Operating Network

The role of the Business Processes Unit is to support the EIB Group to convert traditional business and ways of working to digital ones, using the potential of modern technology and data. Its aim is to establish a comprehensive business transformation strategy, synchronised with operational imperatives, and aligned with the overarching digital strategy and vision.

The unit facilitates the discussions between Business and IT and accompanies business with process optimisation, the delivery of solutions and activation of innovation.

In this position, you would report directly to the Head of Unit.

Accountabilities

  • Contribute to the Digital Transformation journey by taking the lead in process transformation initiatives, best practice sharing, standardisation and process monitoring using Lean 6Sigma principles and tools
  • Analyse and optimise end-to-end business processes to identify and prioritise potential improvements and implementing relevant performance indicators
  • Identify performance metrics to assist business in identifying and monitoring true value from the perspective of the customer and user but also for decision-making purposes
  • Design high-level implementation plan to support the digitalisation steps and organisational changes
  • Organise & lead workshops to help business stakeholders identifying inefficiencies, waste and building creative and effective solutions
  • Communicate regularly with project sponsor(s) and key stakeholders with regards to progress update, enabling changes and decision-making

Qualifications

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in Business Management, Economics, Engineering or Computer Science.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in process improvement/transformation missions or transversal project management, especially linked to designing and implementing performance metrics to measure & monitor impact
  • Solid background as Lean/Project Manager, Business Analyst or Scrum Master on cross-functional transformation initiatives
  • Lean Six Sigma, Agile/Scrum or Data Science certification would be an advantage
  • Cross-sector experience including Banking & Finance would be considered an advantage
  • Experience or proven ability in training or coaching people, ideally in multicultural environment or international organisation would be considered as an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*) with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

(*) Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre-requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The Bank offers appropriate training support.
