IFC’s Corporate Communications team is looking for an experienced senior communications professional who will work across the functions of the Corporate Support Vice Presidency (COSVP) to develop effective communication content and campaigns that strengthen employee engagement and elevate IFC’s ongoing enhancements to corporate support efforts.

Corporate Support provides foundational services necessary for IFC to achieve its development mission. We bring together administration, budget, human resources, information technology, communications, real estate, and corporate strategy functions to offer integrated solutions that empower IFC’s staff, enable IFC’s operations, elevate IFC’s external profile, and strengthen IFC’s ability to effectively implement its strategy and deliver to clients. Role and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Principal Communications Officer, Internal Engagement, this position will play a significant role in supporting and in delivering for the overall work program of IFC’s Vice President of Corporate Support (COSVP).

Qualified candidates must have a passion for private sector development, and a strong track record of performance and corporate and internal communications. Superior strategic thinking and analytical capabilities paired with strong organizational abilities, as well as excellent communication and people skills are key success factors for this challenging and exciting position.

Specific roles and responsibilities of the desired candidate include:
•  Play a key role in managing the end-to-end internal communications process relative to the change management agenda for IFC, to include information gathering, audience analysis, communication goal identification, message development, execution, and feedback to inform future communications.
•  Work closely with other colleagues in the Internal Engagement team to ideate, design, and implement compelling internal and HR communication plans, campaigns, and messages across a variety of mediums that resonate with and engage internal audiences to achieve desired business results.
•  Leveraging the full resources of Corporate Communications, help design and execute comprehensive change communication plans with fully integrated strategies to reach both employees and clients, treating them as unique audiences under a cohesive communication plan.
•  Incorporate change management communication trends and best practices, as well as new tools and technologies into IFC’s internal communications repertoire.
•  Participate in departmental efforts to collect communication metrics and feedback with the intent of measuring the effectiveness of our efforts and informing future strategies, particularly within the HR and the broader Corporate Communications department.
•  Actively liaise with department Directors and Managers on work program items requiring the VP’s attention, problem solve, and conduct necessary organizational coordination for action.
•  Working closely with other Advisers, Managers, and staff in the COSVP Front Office, ensure that all relevant views are integrated in notes, briefing materials and advice provided to leadership.
•  Prepare and attend meetings with leadership; ensure appropriate follow through on actions, decisions, and commitments made by leadership by working with the parties responsible for implementation.

 

Selection Criteria

•  Master’s degree in communications, International Affairs, or other related fields with 8 or more years’ experience in communications.
•  Excellent interpersonal skills, and proven ability to work in matrixed teams, coordinating and guiding different teams to achieve good results.
•  Sound judgment and ability to make sound decisions on reputational risk issues.
•  Strong work ethic and unquestionable integrity.
•  Ability to get things done, and track record as a problem-solver and team player.
•  High degree of responsiveness and ability to effectively prioritize work among multiple competing demands in a high-stakes environment.
•  Ability and willingness to think fast and take decisions even in ambiguous situations; effective multi-tasking is essential.
•  Excellent analytical skills and ability to conduct quick research on a wide variety of topics and to rapidly analyze and synthesize information from varied sources into concise conclusions and recommendations.

•  Strong organizational and coordination skills with keen attention to detail and ability to follow up systematically on a broad set of issues and meet deadlines.
•  Superior interpersonal skills, including an ability to deal with sensitive issues in a multi-cultural environment and build trust and effective working relations with clients and colleagues.
•  High degree of tact and discretion in dealing with internal and external clients, staff at all levels, and in handling confidential and sensitive information.
•  Outstanding written and oral communication skills and ability to synthesize complex issues and substantial documentation into effective oral and written briefs.
•  Energetic self-starter who consistently demonstrates superior performance with minimal supervision.
•  Capacity and flexibility to work long hours and to travel as needed.
•  Ability to meet deadlines, revise work products with a short turnaround time, and pay close attention to detail during the fact checking and proofreading processes.
