This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi-cultural environment. We also offer relocation support.

The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate (GCS), Group Digital Office (GD), Platforms & Services Department (P&S), Integration Division (INT), Integration Platform Services Unit (IPSU) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Senior) DevSecOps Engineer’*.

This is a full-time position at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.

Purpose

Are you passionate about enhancing efficiency, speed and reliability in software delivery? You will play a crucial role by breaking down traditional silos between development and operations teams, and weaving seamlessly security practices into the software development lifecyle?

Operating Network

You will report directly to the Head of Unit and will work in close contact with the unit’s Platform Leads and with the other IT units.

The Unit focuses on providing and managing integration services, providing integration platforms that play a crucial role in connecting diverse applications, systems, and data sources within an organization to ensure seamless communication and data flow

Accountabilities

  • Architect, design, and implement CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code practices to automate the provisioning and configuration of development, testing, and production environments. Leverage tools like Terraform or Ansible to ensure consistency across environments.
  • Collaborate with development and quality assurance teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement automated deployment processes to deliver software releases consistently and reliably.
  • Continuously optimize and enhance CI/CD processes to improve build and deployment efficiency.
  • Implement and manage automated security testing tools and processes to seamlessly
  • Promote a security-conscious culture by providing training and awareness programs.
  • Review analysis and proposed technical solutions prepared by more junior staff for consistency with business and functional requirements and IT plans in order to assess technical and business feasibility.

Qualifications

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in computer science or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in a DevOps or security-related role with strong background in software development.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI, CircleCI, or others.
  • Experience with security scanning tools (static analysis, dynamic analysis, container scanning, etc.) and in addressing common security vulnerabilities.
  • Experience in integration concepts, such as API, event streaming, SOA and ESB would be a nice to have.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Maven, Gradle, npm, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef would be a nice to have.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles, using tools like Terraform would be a nice to have.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes as nice to have.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Bash as nice to have.
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (**), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
