1.     Organizational Context

 

a.    Organizational Setting

 

The post of Senior ERP Technical Lead is located in the Enterprise Solutions Division (ESD), Department of Program Planning and Finance. The Enterprise Solutions Division is responsible for the evolution and maintenance of WIPO’s portfolio of ERP Administrative and Management applications collectively known as the Administrative Integrated Management System (AIMS). AIMS portfolio of products includes a combination of commercial off the shelf (COTS) and custom developed applications based on Oracle Hyperion, Taleo, PeopleSoft FSCM & HCM, Acuity Stream (for risk management) and others.

 

b.    Purpose Statement

 

The Senior ERP Technical Lead is the key responsible person for the overall AIMS architecture and technical evolutions. S/he drives the technical vision, future evolutions and ensures cohesiveness and quality in its implementation. S/he is responsible for ensuring all technical development, integration and solution design is completed in accordance with industry best practice, establish the technical standards and provide the oversight required to ensure consistency and quality of all AIMS development work.

 

c.    Reporting Lines

 

The incumbent works under the supervision of the Director of the Enterprise Solutions Division (ESD).

 

 

2.      Duties and Responsibilities

 

The incumbent will perform the following principal duties:

 

a.   Lead the overall AIMS technical architecture, including solution design and architecture, strategy and future evolutions. Ensure all related information such as communication strategy on evolutions, support material, documentation etc. are properly managed.

 

b.   Oversee for the interactions between principal AIMS core components and side cart applications, ensuring secure, reliable and maintainable communication channels.

 

c.   Manage the technical team responsible for the implementation and operations of the future AIMS integration platform.

 

d.   Manage interactions and collaboration efforts with other software engineers, information security teams, developers, network specialists, service provider and peers to provide expert technical advice in relation to ERP, MS Dynamics, Cloud integrations and other AIMS custom solutions.

 

e.   Provide expertise on the latest technology innovations around cloud, digital, mobility and social collaboration, including during tendering phases.

 

f.    Manage the DevOps practices and build the necessary capabilities in ESD.

 

g.   Ensure AIMS solutions comply with software quality and security standards; manage technical risks e.g. related to technical debt, etc.

 

h.   Perform other duties as necessary.

 

 

3.      Requirements

 

Education (Essential)

Advanced university degree in information technology, computer science or a related field. A first-level university degree plus two additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

 

Education (Desirable)

Project management certification such as Prince2 or Agile.

 

Cloud Architect/Practitioner certification.

 

Java certification.

 

Experience (Essential)

At least seven years of relevant professional experience, including a significant working experience in overseeing ERP technical eco systems with applications like PeopleSoft, Oracle eBS, MS Dynamics or others and a minimum of three years working experience in designing and implementing secure ERP architectures, in particular in the context of Cloud / hybrid environments, in close collaboration with Information Security.

 

Experience among the following: technical solution-design, architecture design, software development, release management in cloud environments (DevOps / CICD).

 

Experience participating to digital transformation initiatives, including developing highly secure hybrid integrations.

 

Experience (Desirable)

Experience implementing integration tools like Talend, Mulesoft or others.

 

Familiarity with Identity Management and Security technologies including custom SAML 2.0 providers.

 

Language (Essential)

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.

5.      Information

 

Mobility:  WIPO staff members are international civil servants subject to the authority of the Director General and may be assigned to any activities, office or duty station of the Organization.  Accordingly, the selected candidate may be required to move from time to time to new functions and/or to another duty station.

 

Annual salary:

Total annual salary consists of a net annual salary (net of taxes and before medical insurance and pension fund deductions) in US dollars and a post adjustment.  Please note that this estimate is for information only.  The post adjustment multiplier (cost of living allowance) is variable and subject to change (increase or decrease) without notice.  The figures quoted below are based on the July 2023 rate of 89.2%

Salaries and allowances are paid in Swiss francs at the official rate of exchange of the United Nations.

* Initial period of two years, renewable, subject to satisfactory performance.  No fixed-term appointment or any extension hereof shall carry with it any expectancy of, nor imply any right to, (further) extensions or conversion to a permanent appointment.
