Senior Field Research Officer (Adv#190/2023)

In Bangladesh, malnutrition is common problem in under five children. Malnutrition leads to many consequences including cognitive outcomes and death. icddr,b is going to provide the food supplement to formation of brain, building the foundation development of cognitive, neurological and socio-emotional skills in children in Bangladesh.
The Senior Field Research Officer reporting to the Senior Scientist will be mainly responsible for following duties and responsibilities:
- Cooperate in developing project implementation plan;
- Perform Language Environment Analysis of malnourished child;
- Provide psycho social stimulation of under five children;
- Perform Cognitive Development Assessment, spirometry and CANTAB on enrolled child;
- Prepare monthly study progress reports;
- Arrange and conduct in-depth interviews (IDI) and survey independently with mental health service receivers, caregivers, hospital personnel and other stakeholders;
- Collect training materials, project materials and logistics from head office and maintain the quality of the ongoing project activities;
- Supervise the work of FRA, FA, and evaluate their work to ensure smooth project activity; Assign work to the team and initiate activities as per project plan, coach staff on how to address issues faced during field-work;
- Guide team members on completion of tasks, activities, reports and documents (e.g. qualitative research methods, tools etc.).
Required qualification and experience:
- Master’s in any discipline.
- At least 5 years of work experience in relevant field;

Contract Type and duration:
- Fixed Term Contract; duration will be for 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Annual Tk.866,060/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits.
- 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance, and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
