Baliaka Bodhu is a mixed-method Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial (CRCT) that will be implemented in Baliakandi Upazila of Rajbari District. Funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Development (DFATD), the project aims to assess the impact of a social norm intervention on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The intervention combines a comprehensive empowerment package for married adolescent girls (MAGs) and positive engagement of relevant stakeholders to improve demand, access, and practices regarding SRHR among married adolescent girls.

Brief Description of Position:

The Senior Field Research Officer will report to the Research Investigator and will be mainly responsible for the following duties and responsibilities;

• Coordinate developing project implementation plan;
• Maintain liaison with the research team, Baliakandi HDSS team, and the implementing organization;
• Lead the cluster formation and participants selection;
• Closely monitor intervention implementation in the field;
• Prepare monthly reports on intervention implementation and other field activities for submission to project leads;
• Arrange interviews with study participants, NGO staff, and other stakeholders;
• Collect training materials, project materials, and logistics from head office and maintain the quality of the ongoing project activities, prepare forecast budget for all types of meetings/workshop/orientation;
• Conduct or attain monthly/weekly meetings with the survey team/implementation partner/ HDSS staff;
• Supervise field team members, coordinate data collection activities, and conduct interviews, when needed;
• Assign work to the survey team and initiate activities as per project plan, coach staff on how to address issues faced during field-work;
• Review the field report prepared by field staff and provide feedback in order to improve the report;
• Mentor and train staff on-the-job in the field; provide feedback to supervisor on team members’ performance for capacity building of team members.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Master in Sociology;
• At least 5 years of work experience in a relevant field;
• Preference will be given to candidates with working experience in intervention implementation, and research experience on gender, violence against women and girls, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Contract type and duration:

• Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement (CSA) basis for 4 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk. 72,172/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
