Title of Assignment: Senior Functional Analyst

Name of unit/sector: Finance Division, Administration, Finance and Management Sector

Place of Assignment: Geneva, but could be performed remotely

Expected duration of assignment: 4 months, starting February 2024, with the possibility of an extension (up to a maximum of 24 months)

1. Objective of the assignment 

The Senior Functional Analyst will help to support and develop the PeopleSoft applications for the Finance Division within WIPO. Particular emphasis for the role is the mixture of functional and accounting skills.

2. Deliverables/services 

(a) Provide application and process support to Finance Division users in relation to applications used in the Finance Division (AIMS FSCM, AIMS HCM, BI, Portal applications, Co-process, etc)
(b) Coordinate testing of change requests and incidents solutions with Finance Division and Enterprise Solution Division (ESD)
(c) Coordinate implementation of change requests and incident solutions with ESD
(d) Prepare, maintain and update functional and user documentation on AIMS related Finance Business processes
(e) Gather and document requirements in collaboration with Finance Division users, which define potential benefits, providing options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes,
(f) Deliver training and presentation on proposed changes to Finance users.
(g) Perform monthly closure of accounts in AIMS Finance

3. Reporting 

The consultants will work under the direct supervision of the Director, Finance Division

4. Profile (e.g. area of specialization/expertise, specific knowledge/skills/experience) * 

a) University degree in accounting, finance, information technology or a related discipline.
b) At least seven years of relevant professional experience in business analysis
c) Relevant professional experience in accounting.
d) Experience with ERP business practices in relation to PeopleSoft Financials Modules (AP/AR/BI/GL/AM), Payroll, Commitment Control and Procurement.
e) Experience with business process analysis and modelling.
f) Project management certification, preferably Prince2.
g) Knowledge of tools such as Cherwell, JIRA and qTest.
h) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
i) Good knowledge of English. * Knowledge of another UN language, such as French, is desirable.

5. Duration of contract and payment

Duration: 4 months

For the deliverables/services described above the Organization shall pay the Contractor a fixed daily rate. Some work may be performed remotely, with prior supervisor approval.  It is specifically agreed that the rate to be paid for the Contractor’s deliverables/services is based on actual days of work rendered, as confirmed by the supervisor upon receipt of the deliverables/services. Any excess days rendered over the maximum stipulated in the Terms of Reference of the Contractor or in this Contract, as may be necessary in order to satisfactorily complete all the agreed tasks, should be agreed and approved in advance.
