Job Purpose:

 

The Senior Investment Portfolio Manager, in coordination with the Lead and the Director, manages and monitors the performance of a complex investments portfolios for the existing funds (non-OCR) to ensure higher returns generation within a defined risk profile in order to enhance the Bank’s income generating capacity. The role conducts advanced analyses and provides necessary inputs and support for the proper reporting of the bank’s investments performances.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

Investment Portfolio Management:

  • Assess assigned existing direct equity portfolio and prepares a detailed divestment plan to liquidate the legacy direct equity investments in private companies.
  • Monitor and exit, wherever required and possible, the legacy investment portfolio of real estate funds, private equity, and leasing investments, among others, in order to maximize the recovery of the invested amounts and to help re-deploy the funds in more attractive, mandate-compliant investment opportunities.
  • Participate in the selection process for suitable external asset managers to manage the funds within the parameters outlined in the Investment Policy Statement.
  • Monitor performance expectations set on financial returns based on relevant benchmarks as per Investment Policy statement and closely monitors the performance of the external asset managers.
  • Monitor non-OCR funds of the bank and other third parties in line with the Guidelines approved by the Board of Executive Directors and within the overall risk parameters as stipulated therein.
  • Liaise regularly with external asset managers for the resolution of any matters related to the externally managed funds.
  • Conduct in depth analysis, prepare and submit regularly customized reports to IsDB management on the performance of the managed funds.

Operational Excellence Support:

  • Provide technical guidance and review the work delivered by lesser experienced team members.
  • Ensure effective implementation and adherence to the respective policies, procedures and controls so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled.
  • Keep abreast with the latest developments, regulations and best practices in the field and propose improvements in IsDB.
  • Provide necessary inputs in the preparation of the Department Budget and in monitoring the actual expenditure against the approved budget.

 

Education, Certification and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Business Administration/Finance/ Investments or related discipline.
  • Certification in Financial Analysis, Investment, Portfolio management preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Asset Management/ Investment Banking, of which 4 years in Investment/Asset Management.
