Job Title: Senior Manager – Corporate New Business

 

Department: Strategic Partnerships

 

Reports to: Head of Corporate Partnerships and New Business

 

Location: Hybrid or office-based at World Vision UK headquarters in Milton Keynes/London Hub

 

Salary: £45 – £49,000 per annum

 

Contract: Permanent. Full-time 36.5 hours per week. Part-time will be considered and opportunity for flexible working.

 

Job Purpose

This role will lead a small New Business team with ambitious growth plans, responsible for securing a range of high value, long term partnerships with a variety of corporates and corporate foundations. It brings the opportunity to create and deliver new innovative ideas, initiatives, and networks to secure transformational support for World Vision’s programming across the globe.

 

The role will work closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships and New Business to implement a 5-year strategy for the team that aims to raise £20million by 2027, taking ownership on developing and implementing all New Business initiatives aiming to generate six and seven figure partnerships which will ultimately transform the lives of children who live in some of world’s poorest and most dangerous places.

 

The role will have overall responsibility for implementing WVUK’s Corporate New Business activities, engaging a wide range of private sector businesses to secure multi-year, industry leading partnerships across a wide range of industries and sectors. The role will have accountability for managing and developing a sustainable pipeline of corporate funding opportunities, delivering against targets and identifying future strategic growth opportunities.

 

This role will suit an ambitious and dynamic individual with experience of working in either a corporate fundraising or other business development focused role and who will be able to demonstrate significant achievement in either building New Business functions or securing high value and strategic Corporate Partnerships in the third sector.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the Corporate Partnerships New Business strategy and partnership development initiatives across WVUK’s strategic programming priorities
  • Deliver against ambitious targets contained within the new business strategy to deliver high value partnerships and donations from the corporate sector, operating on both national and global scales, driving growth in
  • Support and manage a small team of Corporate New Business Managers in developing a diverse and sustainable pipeline of new corporate partnership opportunities
  • Cultivate and lead on new business prospect meetings; solicitating contact with target organisations, creating bespoke proposals and delivering pitches to senior level members of organisations.
  • Effective and knowledgeable in network mapping tools and processes; confidence in generating leads from existing relationships and connections.
  • Bring independent thought and a diverse array of experience to developing partnerships with corporates, seeking to always inspire the bigger picture outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of the external landscape, development and trends in partnerships and the international development sector.
  • Occasional international travel to visit World Vision’s programmes with prospective corporate partners.

 

Essential Technical Skills

  • Significant experience in leading New Business campaigns and strategies to secure partnerships achieving social good and/or delivering income.
  • Significant experience in managing and developing a strong sales /opportunity pipeline.
  • Demonstrable track record in securing strategic partnerships that deliver income against agreed targets / delivering a successful sales pipeline.
  • Knowledge of the external fundraising environment, corporate trends/challenges and an understanding of regulations that affect corporate partnerships.
  • A good strategic thinker.
  • Excellent written skills
  • Ideally have experience of corporate fundraising in a large and/or internationally operating charity and/or understanding of the different principles of corporate fundraising
  • Experience of using a CRM system for solicitation and tracking purposes
  • Experience of networking and representing an organisation at external events.

  • A positive and passionate individual, with an ability to manage setbacks and navigate complex internal dynamics.
  • Ability to manage own workload and pipeline opportunities.
  • A demonstrable track record of being able to influence, be persuasive and credible at the most senior levels, securing buy-in and support to achieve objectives.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to flex style to a variety of audiences and platforms, including face to face and via Zoom/MS Teams.
  • Ability to communicate with senior stakeholders internally and externally
  • A team player; open, able, and willing to deliver beyond his or her personal brief.
