The Humanitarian Coalition is looking for a Senior Manager, Communications and Marketing

 

 

ABOUT THE ROLE / WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Manager, Communications and Marketing is responsible for elevating the brand and visibility of the Humanitarian Coalition (HC) and its member agencies, developing and implementing the overall communications strategy, leading on the promotion and performance of joint public appeals, collaborating on the elaboration and implementation of the annual fundraising strategy, and actively engaging the Management and Fundraising Committee (MFC) as well as the Communications Committee in accomplishing the HC’s strategic objectives.

 

Dedicated, versatile, creative and committed to excellence, the Senior Manager, Communications and Marketing will employ a variety of tactics in both English and French to engage stakeholders in communications, fundraising, digital marketing and public relations strategies and campaigns, and implement successful Canada-wide appeals to respond to international humanitarian disasters.

 

 

WHAT YOU OFFER / ABOUT YOU

 

  • University degree in journalism, marketing, communications, fundraising or related field.
  • 5-8 years of professional experience in communications and media relations, digital marketing, fundraising and project management, preferably with a nonprofit organization.
  • Proven ability to engage, support and supervise staff, stakeholders and volunteers.
  • Proficiency in both English and French (oral and written)
  • Strong copy-editing skills, design experience, attention to detail, and demonstrated success in producing effective communications and fundraising tools to tight deadlines.
  • First-hand experience managing corporate social media accounts.
  • Demonstrated experience in website management and search engine optimization, digital advertising and analytics. Experience managing Google ad grants an asset.
  • Applicable knowledge of relevant computer software (Microsoft Office Suite, etc.); knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite an asset.
  • Superior project management skills, highly organized and works well independently.
  • Tact and discretion in managing stakeholder relations and sensitive issues.
  • Adaptable and flexible to shifting work requirements, particularly during emergency appeals.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism.

  • Starting salary range between CAD $85,000 – $95,000
