The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Operations Directorate (OPS), Business Planning & Mandate Management Department (BPMM), Mandate Development Division (2-MD), EC Mandates Unit (ECM), at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Senior) Mandate Officer / Contract Negotiation*.
This is a full-time position at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.

As a (Senior) mandate Officer / Contract Negotiation, you will join a team of experts, where you will contribute to the origination and design of both future and existing mandates, aiming to align the identification of business needs and opportunities related to EU mandates.
The Business Development and Mandate Management Department ensures that 3rd party funds, which are contributed to the EIB via a “mandate”, are managed effectively and allocated to projects contributing to the objectives of the donors or “mandators”. The Mandate Development Division is responsible for the origination and structuring of mandates, as well as an overall oversight of the mandate portfolio managed by the EIB.
In this position, you will report to the Head of Unit and work in close cooperation with the other members of the Mandate Development Division. You will also regularly cooperate with colleagues in the Mandate Management Department as well as in other services of the EIB Group, working on mandate-related activities. Externally, you will liaise with mandators such as the European Commission, as well as with other stakeholders such as NPBIs.

As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The Bank offers appropriate training support.
