The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO) – Platforms & Services Department (P&S) – Infrastructure Services Division (IS) – UC & Windows Client Services Unit (UC&WS) at its headquarters in Luxembourg a (Senior) Microsoft Client Cloud Solution Engineer *.

This is a full-time position at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.

Purpose

Are you passionate about digital transformation and ready to be part of our journey from on-premises to cloud solutions? We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Microsoft Client Cloud Solutions Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in driving our digital ambition, transforming our operations, and leading the adoption of Microsoft 365 (M365) within our organization.

Operating Network

You will report to the Head of Unit and lead a group of consultants working in implementing Microsoft Cloud projects.

Accountabilities

  • Support the M365 product owner in delivery of technology roadmap, design and implementation for Microsoft Cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate with various units across the organization to ensure successful integration and adoption of cloud services, facilitating seamless authentication in cloud platforms like Azure or AWS
  • Manage lab tests, proofs-of-concept and other technical evaluations related to Microsoft Cloud technologies
  • Lead project teams implementing Microsoft Cloud projects
  • Ensure that projects and solutions are designed and implemented in line with internal standards and that best practice, security recommendations and industry standards are respected
  • Leverage technology to automate manual tasks to seek efficiency gains
  • Adhere to and enforce, and communicate EIB policies, standards and procedures and actively propose ideas of improvement and optimisation for the existing processes and services in line with IT infrastructure policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the IT Security in addressing Microsoft technologies vulnerabilities
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in cloud technologies, including Microsoft Suite and other platforms like AWS, understanding how they interact and complement each other
  • Communicate technology changes by creating and giving presentations, participating in projects, and contributing to change management and education initiatives
  • Contribute to the budget development in accordance with the strategy and roadmap

Qualifications

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in computer science or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Microsoft Cloud technologies
  • Proven experience in driving digital transformation programs based on Microsoft Cloud technologies (e.g. M365)
  • Experience in requirements gatherings, analysis, evaluation, and prioritizing
  • Hands on proficiency in service solution design and implementation
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Cloud technologies
  • Expertise at a user level of Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive
  • Practical experience in running Agile teams with Kanban, SCRUM or similar methodologies
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

(*) Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre-requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
