The Climate Action and Inclusive Development (CAID) under the Investment and Policy Solutions Division is a global unit in GGGI situated in GGGI’s Seoul headquarters. The unit supports Members and Partners in the development of enabling environment policy for green growth transformations and inclusive climate action. Evidence-based analysis and broad stakeholder engagements at the heart of national, subnational and sector level policies is key to ambitious target-setting, robust low-carbon and resilient development pathways, and socially inclusive outcomes.
OVERVIEW OF GGKP
The Green Growth Knowledge Partnership (GGKP) is co-hosted by GGGI in partnership with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). These organizations serve as the joint host of the GGKP Secretariat (www.greengrowthknowledge.org) on behalf of the GGKP Steering Committee (UNEP, GGGI, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and the World Bank). The GGKP is a global network of over 90 international organizations, research institutes and non- governmental organizations focused on promoting a green economy transition by:
- identifying major knowledge gaps in green growth theory and practice and addressing these gaps by promoting collaboration and coordinated research; and
- using world-class knowledge management and communication tools to provide practitioners, policymakers, and other experts with opportunities to access, share, and utilize green growth policy analysis, guidance, information, and data.
PURPOSE
GGGI is seeking a dedicated Senior Officer for the GGKP Secretariat to lead the expansion and enhancement of GGKP’s global knowledge brokerage that aims to dramatically improve knowledge and experience between organizations through a combination of digital and peer-to-peer based solutions. This role is crucial in driving innovation, ensuring effective knowledge sharing, and resource mobilization within the GGKP from GGGI’s side. The Senior Officer will support the organization’s global and regional programs, create new initiatives, and enhance the strategic vision of existing efforts. By facilitating access to and exchange of green growth knowledge among GGGI country teams and stakeholders, the Senior Officer will disseminate critical insights and best practices, amplifying the impact of GGGI’s initiatives.
The key responsibilities envisioned for this role are:
- Oversee and enhance current knowledge management, sharing and analysis efforts developed within the GGKP.
- Foster knowledge exchange between partners and within Community of Practices, apply, create conceptual models and policy frameworks for new projects, and develop AI-driven strategies to improve knowledge management and accessibility.
- Support resource mobilization for the Climate Action and Inclusive Development (CAID) program, develop funding proposals with partners, and collaborate with IT and knowledge management teams to enhance platform accessibility and user experience.
ENGAGEMENT
The Senior Officer will support the day-to-day implementation, expansion, and fundraising for the GGKP knowledge brokerage activities serve as GGGI’s focal point and coordinator for the GGKP on its day-to-day operations in coordination with the GGKP Secretariat. The Senior Officer will work closely with:
- GGGI’s country teams to facilitate knowledge exchange between country programs and the GGKP.
- Sectoral/thematic experts (focusing on renewable energy, circular economy, green investment, climate-smart agriculture, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), among other thematic areas) to create synergies in knowledge creation and dissemination with GGGI country programs and support the development of a digital network to facilitate automate knowledge exchange between community members.
- External GGKP knowledge partners to generate, gather, and exchange key knowledge products on green growth in a collaborative fashion.
- Developing outreach campaigns harnessing different GGKP resources to promote the work of GGGI and GGKP Knowledge Partners.
- Maintaining productive relationships with project partners and beneficiary institutions.
- Leading the engagement with AI and machine learning communities to stay abreast of the latest developments, tools, and best practices that can be adopted by GGKP to enhance its knowledge brokerage.
DELIVERY
- GGGI’s contributions to the day-to-day implementation and further expansion of the GGKP, and manage delivery inside of GGGI’s Project Cycle
- Communicate with the GGKP Secretariat to ensure program objectives and work plans are conveyed and coordinated.
- Identify and pursue long-term resource mobilization opportunities.
- Curate and publish knowledge products on GGKP platforms.
- Collaborate with country teams to develop knowledge and communication products to be included in the GGKP web platforms.
- Monitor the response of GGKP’s efforts impact analytics and user feedback, and advise on opportunities to improve outreach and promote awareness of GGKP’s platforms and initiative
- Contribute to GGKP fundraising activities focused on expansion of the to the GGKP web platforms and initiatives including by interacting with clients and partners to facilitate assessment of needs and the provision of services which meet expectations
- Participate in GGKP research committees and annual conferences to produce new knowledge products.
- Design, development, and deploy of Data solutions and AI models for knowledge management, analysis and dissemination.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Data & AI-driven tools and strategies in achieving GGKP’s objectives, making adjustments as necessary to optimize performance.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in public policy, communication, economics, environmental studies, business administration, engineering, or other relevant disciplines.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in green growth, sustainable development, or development economics.
- Direct experience working in developing countries and with international development institutions, ideally on green growth or related issues.
- Specific knowledge/experience in international development, knowledge management, communications, or partnership engagement.
- Experience developing and managing effective knowledge management and sharing programs within and between organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute Data & AI projects, including knowledge and experience with natural language processingand advanced data analytics is highly desirable.
- Experience in project cycle management and effective communications.
- Solid understanding of organizations and/or research institutions producing green growth knowledge.
- Experience working in a multi-country context and international setting.
- Experience managing and executing international workshops and conferences.
- Experience establishing successful collaborative relationships and partnerships across different organizations; an existing network in the green growth and green economy field is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional written and oral communication in English.
FUNCTIONAL
- Ability to work in a virtual team operating across multiple locations.
- Strong technical background in green growth-related sectors or themes.
- Proven experience in green growth-related knowledge development, management, and sharing.
- Ability to promote the application of state-of-the-art technical analysis and research on relevant development topics.
- Ability to extract and synthesize key messages and recommendations from extensive knowledge products.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate concisely and effectively with different stakeholders.
- Experience in analytical research and its applications in green growth is a plus.
- Analytical skills to apply Data & AI solutions for analyzing large datasets, extracting insights, and informing decision-making is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of developing and implementing Data & AI solutions to enhance the accessibility, relevance, and impact of knowledge products is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is an X9, international grade level in GGGI’s salary scale. For X9 International grade, the base salary starts from USD 77,904. Determination of base salary is subject to candidate’s experience, academic background and internal equity. GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
