The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO) – Business Solutions Department (BSD) – Lending Division (LD) – Front Office Lending Unit (FOL) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Senior) Pega Software Engineer*.

This is a full-time position at grade 5/6 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract and part time arrangement (of minimum 80%) can be accommodated.

Purpose

Operating Network

You will report to the Head of the Unit and work in close collaboration with the squad leaders and internal business customers.

What will you do?

  • Act as thought leader in Pega technologies
  • Be in the lead for the full Pega life cycle, including setting standards, reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations whilst incorporating IT best practices
  • Influence Pega best practices within a team
  • Train and mentor Junior Software Engineers on Pega technologies
  • Apply and promote DevOps and Agile development practices to deliver business value on a regular basis

Qualifications

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in computer science or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Pega Software Engineer, previous development experience in C#, Java or JavaScript would be an advantage
  • Certified Pega Lead System Architect recognition will be a strong advantege
  • Hands-on experience in software development lifecycle
  • Experience in taking technical design decisions
  • Excellent knowledge of DevOps and Agile principles, methods and practices
  • Experience in the banking, financing or insurance domain would be considered an advantage
  • Experience in supervising a small team (1-5) of Pega Software Engineers would be considered an advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good knowledge of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage

(*) Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre-requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The Bank offers appropriate training support.
