The role:

The Senior Portfolio Manager will be key member of Portfolio, Programme, Project Management (P3M) Branch and will have responsibility of overseeing the execution of the NATO Headquarters portfolio of projects and services which are delivered by the NCI Agency.  This highly visible role will engage and influence various stakeholders of NATO organisations and Nations located in the NATO Headquarters to capture and assess stakeholder requirements, prioritize business intake and monitor, report on associated projects until delivery.  The Senior Portfolio Manager will have four key areas of focus:

  • Portfolio Management
  • Portfolio, Programme and Project Support
  • Demand Management
  • Relationship Management

Working within an international team the Senior Portfolio Manager will monitor, track and report on the execution of the portfolio requirements, including leading the routine and ad-hoc portfolio reviews and contributing to the quarterly portfolio reviews chaired by the Chief Operating Office.

About you:              

You easily establish good relationship and are able to relate to people at all levels.  You are eager and able to produce new ideas, approaches and insights to deliver innovate solutions to problems.  Able to adapt to changing circumstances you can manage ambiguity, accept new ideas and change initiatives, further to this you have:

    • At least 3 years of relevant experience in the development, planning, acquisition, delivery of C4ISR services, systems and/or solutions, or elements thereof
    • A recognised programme / project management training and experience in Programme / Project Management of major communication and/or command and control/management information system for a large organisation.
    • Experience in applying management techniques in the acquisition / delivery of communication and information systems / services
    • Proven ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in writing and to be able to present information in a format which is easily understood by all levels and nationalities. Public speaking skills and ability to give clear and concise briefings on the Agency’s plans and programmes
    • Ideally a recognised formal Project Management qualification, such as PRINCE2, MSP or PMP
    • Experience in Customer Relationship Management
    • Experience in multi-discipline engineering environment
