Position Title: Senior Project Manager, CHW Integration & Sustainability (North Carolina), PIH United States
Reports to: Project Lead, Public Sector & Systems Advising (North Carolina), PIH United States
Location: North Carolina (required, remote) with 20% travel throughout the state.

Position Type: Full-time; Temporary until August 2024 with potential for extension

Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager, Community Health Worker (CHW) Integration & Sustainability will join the PIH-US North Carolina team working to establish more effective and equitable public health and healthcare systems and leveraging investments in the response to COVID-19 for sustained change. The Senior Project Manager, in close collaboration with the Project Lead, Public Sector & Systems Advising will manage and provide technical advising for CHW workforce integration and sustainability efforts with NC CHW Initiative partners including North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS), NC CHW Association, and others.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support NC CHW Initiative partners including North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS), NC CHW Association, and others in development, implementation, and monitoring of CHW workforce integration and sustainability North Carolina
  • Lead project management, technical support, and strategic advising for NCDHHS CHW Strategy and Sustainability efforts in partnership with Senior Project Lead
  • Facilitate collaborative relationships with NCDHHS, including senior levels of leadership, and additional relevant stakeholders throughout North Carolina
  • Convene meetings among the project partners and stakeholders, adhering to the PIH-US North Carolina team norms and NC CHW Initiative principles and values
  • Advise NCDHHS and partners on programmatic changes to strategies based on stakeholder, community, and data-driven feedback with a focus on equity, sustainability, and CHW leadership
  • Manage preparation of deliverables including analysis and recommendations for NCDHHS and key partners with Senior Project Lead and additional PIH-US North Carolina Team members
  • Advise NCDHHS and partners to review, discuss and apply basic Medicaid and Medicare guidelines to financing and integration policy strategies that may support sustainability of CHW efforts in collaboration with PIH-US cross-site supports
  • Compile, synthesize and analyze information to inform the development of assessments, recommendations, and other advising and program materials
  • Communicate across concurrent PIH-US North Carolina workstreams when activities overlap and engage across team activities to identify and elevate potential cross-cutting themes
  • Lead drafting of external program reports in collaboration with Senior Project Lead
  • Collaborate with other PIH-US technical advising (TA) sites to identify research topics of interest, compile and synthesize relevant resources, and share best practice recommendations with respective TA site partners
  • Provide regular reports on program and work progress to PIH-US leadership team and liaise across other PIH-US sites
  • Track project performance using appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and project metrics

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 5 years of relevant work experience or advanced degree plus 3-4 years of work experience
  • Experience working with CHWs and community-based health programs including implementation and policy
  • Prior project management experience in complex, fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in or with public sector partners in the US required, familiarity with North Carolina public sector preferred
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
  • Strong communication and data visualization skills, including delivery of compelling presentations and documents in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Exceptional diplomatic and interpersonal skills and ability to build strong professional relationships with a range of stakeholders in an advisory capacity
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in high-pressure environment with an evolving scope of work, manage new challenges, and manage competing priorities
  • Strategically minded, able to think creatively around program objectives and the detailed steps necessary to achieve these goals
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle confidential information with discretion and according to contractual/legal agreements.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional, positive attitude, empathy, and strong work ethic
