Position: Senior Recruiter, Agriculture & Volunteer Programs Unit: Agriculture & Volunteer Programs Location: Remote, USA Reports To: Program Manager, Agriculture, Resilience & Water Position Summary: This position will support the implementation of Winrock’s Agriculture & Volunteer Programs, including the USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) Program, serving as a Recruiter responsible for the recruitment and mobilization of expert volunteers, consultants, and staff for Winrock’s Agriculture & Volunteer Programs unit. Major Responsibilities: Play a leading recruitment role for Farmer 2 Farmer projects and other agriculture/volunteer programs. Recruit, field, and support volunteers and help ensure that annual volunteer targets are met. Expand Winrock’s network of qualified volunteer experts – developing and executing recruiting plans; utilizing traditional recruitment strategies (e.g. networking through industry contacts, association memberships, etc.); developing and coordinating new, creative recruiting campaigns; and leading/coordinating external institutional relationships to support volunteer recruitment. Assist with recruitment, fielding, and support of consultants for other projects in the Agriculture & Volunteer Programs portfolio, as needed. Assist with recruitment of staff (e.g., proposed personnel for proposals) for the Agriculture & Volunteer Programs portfolio, as needed. Coordinate logistics related to volunteer travel and other tasks related to preparing and mobilizing volunteers for their assignments abroad. Proactively contribute ideas to improve materials and processes related to volunteer recruitment and mobilization. Prepare and regularly update briefing materials for each target country for the purpose of project orientation and cross-cultural training for volunteers and consultants. Materials include information on Winrock and the specific project, cross-cultural tips, safety/security, health considerations, and environmental compliance. Brief volunteers prior to departure by verbally reviewing scope of work objectives, tasks and deliverables; orient volunteers regarding Winrock’s technical and operational approaches to implementing volunteer assignments; facilitate communication between the volunteer, field staff and host prior to departure to ensure that volunteers clearly understand the assignment tasks and local conditions; and communicate with field staff to plan volunteer assignments well in advance of volunteer trip dates. Verbally debrief volunteers upon return and document lessons for how to improve future recruitment and mobilization. Ensure quality volunteer assignments by reviewing and editing scopes of work, providing feedback to field staff on volunteer assignments, and performing other related tasks. Collect and process volunteer/consultant assignment reports, including end of assignment deliverables, activity reports, and expense reports. Track volunteer assignment documentation and deliverables in Winrock’s volunteer project management information system. Assist in the preparation of project communications materials. Support volunteer outreach activities –contributing to Winrock VTA Facebook page or blog, drafting press releases or articles about volunteer activities, etc. Write and edit volunteer or project summaries, factsheets, success stories, and other communication materials. Assist with preparing new progress reports required by donors. Support administration and management of recruitment staff. Contribute to development and implementation of training for new recruitment staff. Coordinate regular updates to the Winrock Recruiters’ Manual. May supervise Recruitment Coordinator and/or interns (as assigned). Support new business development efforts. Write and edit proposal components, particularly those related to recruitment (such as personnel CVs, key qualifications, and staffing sections) or volunteer programs capabilities. Prepare charts to highlight proposed short-term technical assistance or past performance references. Assist with recruiting proposed consultants or staff for proposals. Represent Winrock at domestic and/or international workshops, meetings, or conferences. Other Responsibilities: Assist with other program or administrative tasks as requested. Qualifications and Background: Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience required. Experience: At least 5 years of experience recruiting and coordinating staff, volunteers, or consultants, preferably in an international or non-profit organization setting. Proven track record of successfully mobilizing/logistics coordination of volunteers for international assignments. 3 years of USAID program experience required – examples include program recruiter, program associate, etc. Experience with project management and logistics coordination. Prior involvement in agriculture, environmental, or volunteer-driven programs is highly desirable. Proven experience with organizations and clients such as educational institutions, non-profits, and/or for-profits with agriculture initiatives. A work history demonstrating the ability to use analytical skills, meet deadlines, and work on multiple projects simultaneously. International experience, particularly in Francophone Africa, is a plus. Position Specific Skills: Excellent organization and management skills, including ability to coordinate tasks and meet deadlines while ensuring quality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Able to communicate in a clear, professional, and positive manner with U.S.-based team members, in-country staff, and stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment with respect for diversity. Proactive and solutions-oriented approach to communication and problem-solving. Language: Fluency in English required (written and oral).Required Travel: Must be willing and able to travel to remote locations both domestically and internationally on short trips (up to three weeks). This position may be based remotely within the contiguous United States but is expected to work East Coast or Central hours (EST). The salary range for this role is set between $65,000 and $73,000, with the majority of candidates typically land within the midpoint of this range, there is an additional 10% contribution for a 403b annually and an excellent benefits package.
