Position Description:

The Senior Research Assistant will report to the Research Investigator. S/he will be required to perform activities like data collection, data management, organize and manage field activities as well as aid the supervisor to conduct other relevant activities according to research protocol following the organizational values and guidelines. S/he will also be involved in –

• Understanding study protocol and familiarizing with the data collection techniques under the guidance of the supervisor;
• Develop activity plans under the guidance of a supervisor and communicate the plans with other team members;
• Collect qualitative data using methods such as in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, key informant interviews, or any other applicable methods;
• Transcribe the collected qualitative data and carefully review the transcripts to identify any gaps in the data and ensure consistency with the recorded interviews ;
• Share initial findings with supervisor and seek inputs
• Contribute in analysis by conducting coding of the transcribed data by using AtlasTI
• Support the research team to organize different stakeholder meetings and relevant workshops;
• Keep track of data collection at the field level
• Conduct literature review
• Coordinate with Research Administration (RA) for approvals for research-related activities
• Initiate activities as per the project plan

Required qualifications and experience:

• Master’s in Anthropology/Sociology with good academic records;
• 3 years relevant experience in public health research.

Contract Type and duration:

• Short Term Contractual Service Agreement basis; duration will be 3 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk. 43,423/-(consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances.
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
