Background
Adaptation Insights (AI) is a project designed to support CGIAR implementation partners, funding agencies, international organizations, NGOs, public institutions, and private sector actors in using climate data to detail progress in adaptation implementation and its effectiveness in reducing climate-related risks. The project aims to enhance capacities to track adaptation, collect, report, and share data on adaptation, and ensure the use of innovations and recommendations from Adaptation Insights by various CGIAR functions and initiatives.
AIMLE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Evidence) is part of the IDRC ACDC (Agroecology in the Dry Corridor) proposal, underpinned by the Evidence for Resilient Agriculture data extraction system developed by our team. The position will be expected to provide support to this system, although this will not be the full focus of the role.
About the position
The Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT is seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as a Senior Research Associate focusing on the management and implementation of data synthesis activities for the Adaptation Insights and AIMLE projects. This role is critical for ensuring the integrity and reliability of specialized scientific databases and supporting the development of technical and human capacities to collect, analyze, and disseminate data on adaptation implementation and effectiveness.
The Senior Research Associate will play an important role in the extraction of data, quality control for data integrity and reliability, and supporting the development of technical and human capacities to collect, analyze, and disseminate data on adaptation implementation and effectiveness.
Terms of employment
This position is a nationally recruited position based in Nairobi, Kenya. The initial contract will be for one (1) year subject to a probation period of three (3) months and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
This position is graded at BG07, level, with a basic salary of KES 227,931 in a scale of BG01 to BG14 (BG14 being the highest level according to the Alliance job classification framework policy).
