Senior Scientific Officer –Environmental Science
ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals, for the position of Senior Scientific Officer –Environmental Science to support ICRISAT Development Center under Resilient Farm and Food Systems to be based at Patancheru. ICRISAT is involved in several research and development projects towards Natural Resource Management, this position is intended to undertake research in areas of Natural Resource Management and document case studies and impact stories towards generated ecosystem services. There is a requirement of 1 position where the incumbents will be based at Maharashtra

Responsibilities:
· Undertake research on Natural Resource Management and understand the impact of various in-situ (e.g., field bunding, agroforestry, etc.) and ex-situ (check dam, traditional rainwater harvesting structures, etc.), interventions on water resources availability and various ecosystem services.
· Data collection towards monitoring various water balance components at micro and mesoscale landscapes;
· Guide and supervise field staff on data collection and analysis in respective project locations.
· To organize capacity building program on water balance/ water management to various stakeholders and field functionaries including line department officials;
· To write and communicate research and development findings to various stakeholders for scaling up; documentation and peer review publications
Key Qualifications:
· Masters in natural resources management/environmental and earth sciences/related NRM disciplines with 5 years of experience
· Adapt and or develop experimental methods/concepts to support research in landscape hydrology.
· Perform data analysis, preparation of reports and communicate this information to different stakeholders.
· Demonstrate capacity to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
· Ability to develop effective relationships and work harmoniously in an outcome-focused and multi-disciplinary team environment.
· Willingness to travel to outstation locations for instrumentation and data collection.
· High level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including demonstrated experience in preparing reports and research papers within the required timeframe for a range of audience.

This is a contractual position for a period of 24 months.
