Based in Braine l’Alleud the Senior Service Engineer plays a key role in the definition, design, implementation and continuous improvement of common architecting and service engineering practices throughout the NCI Agency to improve technical coherence and interoperability of C3 capabilities and ICT services for the NATO C&I Enterprise and beyond.

The role:
The new post will be work within The Chief Technology Office (CTO) of the NCI Agency. This central function are enabling the digital transformation of NATO ICT, establishing the Agency’s technical vision and IT engineering strategy including management of the research and development of emerging technology
The Senior Service Engineer will join the Architecting and Engineering (A&E) Team within the CTO where the role will support with and define requirements for agency-wide taxonomies / catalogues, standards, guidelines, procedures, templates and tools, for the NCI Agency, and influence / contribute to related activities for the NATO Enterprise, the Alliance and the Federation. In addition this post will also:
· Monitor and evaluate adoption of, and adherence to, relevant policies and standards (NATO, Agency and industry).
· Monitor and evaluate application of, and adherence to, relevant CTO technical guidance and architecting standards in projects, services, proof of concepts or other initiatives in assigned areas / domains.
· Support the definition and management of service engineering practices and standards to be applied across NCI Agency and in all relevant services procured, owned or operated by the Agency.
· Support the definition and management of Service Engineering Design and Transition processes in the project and service lifecycle.
· Support the automation of cyber security engineering testing and assessment processes.
· Drive adoption of, and adherence to, relevant policies and standards (NATO, Agency and industry).

About you:
You easily establish good relationship and are able to relate to people at all levels. You produce new ideas, approaches and insights to deliver innovate solutions to problems. Able to adapt to changing circumstances you can manage ambiguity, accept new ideas and change initiatives, further to this you have:
· In-depth experience in the area of ICT design and cybersecurity for ideally military CIS/C4ISR systems or similar complex IT systems.
· Experience of working with a diverse, multi-disciplinary and multi-national team.
· Proven ability to moderate architecture related discussions with multi-disciplinary teams.
· Proven ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
· Proven experience with presenting complex technical concepts to a diverse audience and at times non-technical audience.
· Comprehensive understanding of operational tasks in the NATO C2 structure at strategic, operational and tactical levels;
· Knowledge and experience in underlying concepts, best practices and tools of C4ISR Systems, Software Engineering, Cyber Security and IT Service Provision;
· Demonstrated progressive management experience leading projects requiring an end-to-end Interoperability perspective, effectively managing more than one project;
· Proven ability in process analysis, and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, planning and gap analysis;
· A certification in The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and ArchiMate modelling language.
· Knowledge in ITIL, COBIT, CISSP, or equivalent;
