The NATO Communications & Information Agency is leading NATO’s Digital Transformation.  Based in The Hague, Netherlands, the Senior Service Engineer will be responsible for providing architectural and engineering guidance to the NATO Digital Workplace (NDW) Centre supporting the development and design of new innovative collaboration services with strong focus on Workstream Collaboration, Content Platforms, Digital Events and Workspace services.

The role:

This new post within the Chief Technology Office Architecting & Engineering (A&E) team will support in enabling the digital collaboration services delivered by the NATO Digital Workplace (NDW) Centre ensuring that the enterprise architectures of NDW services are consistent with other business areas within the NCI Agency.

As a key member of the A&E team the Senior Service Engineer with be embedded into NDW as a technical design authority to support with the definition and development of enterprise and technical architectures.  Working closely with the leadership of NDW the Senior Service Engineer will provide guidance and direction to the implementation of programmes and projects to ensure overall coherence across all locations that NDW support within the NATO community.

This new post is ideal for someone who has a demonstrable experience in providing architectural and design guidance in the design of Workstream Collaboration, formal Video Conferencing, Audio Visual Infrastructure, Content Platforms, Digital Events and Identity Management solutions.

About you:              

You easily establish good relationship and are able to relate to people at all levels.  You are eager and able to produce new ideas, approaches and insights to deliver innovate solutions to problems.  Able to adapt to changing circumstances you can manage ambiguity, accept new ideas and change initiatives, further to this you have:

  • Prior experience (at least 3 years) providing architectural and design guidance in the design of Workstream Collaboration, formal Video Conferencing, Audio Visual Infrastructure, Content Platforms, Digital Events and Identity Management solutions.
  • Sound practical experience in with modern multi-vendor Software as a Service (SaaS) collaboration services.
  • Sound practical experience in the design, implementation, support, testing and maintenance of C4ISR systems.
  • Sound practical experience of service delivery and service provisioning policies, methodologies, processes and tools.
  • Knowledge and experience involving the development, management, acquisition and/ or implementation of major military CIS/C4ISR systems or similar complex IT systems.
  • Proven ability to moderate engineering related discussions with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Ideally experience with Cyber Security techniques to protect information.
  • Ideally experience with security policies and security technical implementation mechanisms, preferably in a public sector organization.
  • Ideally knowledge and experience in Enterprise Architecture and Business process.
  • Ideally knowledge and experience in underlying concepts, best practices and tools of C4ISR Systems, Software Engineering, Cyber Security and IT Service Provision.
  • Ideally knowledge in The Open Group TOGAF, ITIL, COBIT, CISSP, or equivalent
