JOB DETAIL

Org. Setting and Reporting

* Supervisor and Technical Guidance received:
The incumbent reports to the Hospital Matron or Hospital Director and receives technical supervision from Field Nursing Services Officer and/or Area Nursing Services Officer (as applicable).

* Supervisees and Technical Guidance provided:
The incumbent supervises staff nurses and other nursing, midwifery and non paramedical staff in the health centre.

Responsibilities

The incumbent:
1. Acts as principal nursing officer at the Hospital and supervises and directs staff nurses and other nursing, midwifery and non-paramedical staff;
2. Ensures the smooth running of the electronic medical record system, including training of nursing staff, replacement of needed equipment and computers, communication, backup system;
3. Supervises the overall process of data collection and reporting;
4. Directs and participates in all activities to ensure that health services are provided within the Family Health Team Approach context;
5. Assists the supervisor in the administration of the health centre; controls and keeps records of equipment, uniforms, linen, sundries and other medical supplies needed for nursing activities; ensures their continued availability and
supervises disposal of used items;
6 Supervises and ensures the maintenance of a high standard of cleanliness and infection control in the health centre;
7. Conducts on-the-job training of supervised staff and participates in the in-service courses as and when required;
8. Participates in-service & duty A.B .C.
9. Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

Education

– A University Degree in Nursing from a recognized university;
– Possession of a license to practice nursing services (where applicable).
University Degree in public health nursing. (Desirable)

Work Experience

– At least four years working experience as a qualified nurse provided with a certificate of satisfactory working experience is required.

– Experience in the use of computers and an understanding of their use in health applications is required.

* Conditions of service
-Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment
– Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of
further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing
need.
Monthly basic salary USD1, 431.50, payable in JD at UN monthly exchange rate.

1- One-year Experience in Primary Health Care (PHC) level.
