About the job
You will bring the required level of expertise within The Directorate Air Missile Defence Command & Control (AMDC2). AMDC2 ensures the harmonized planning, implementation, deployment evolution and support of the Air Command and Control System (ACCS) and other Air Command & Control (AirC2) and Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) assigned programs. You will join The Engineering Branch (ENB). ENB manages, controls, guides and orchestrates all technical aspects of all AMDC2-related internally developed or contracted capabilities/systems/products throughout their product lifecycles. As Senior Systems Engineer you will operate within Platform Engineering Services (PES); PES manages, controls and orchestrates the management of installation, deployment and configuration of operational strings under the control of the Directorate. PES ensures that associated installation packages and configuration documentation for ADP infrastructure, network connectivity, interfaces and non-developed (COTS) software are available, and up-to-date. PES ensures the efficient and effective installation and upgrade of integration strings under its authority, and acts as operating authority of those assets. Head-PES (H-PES) manages the supporting engineering resources engineering resources allocated to PES.

About you
We are looking for a talented and knowledgeable Senior Systems Engineer who holds a minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 3 years post-related experience; Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post; Recent experience in system engineering and (architectural) design of large-scale distributed software-intensive transaction processing or management support systems (like management information-, decision support systems, etc.); Up-to-date knowledge of computer system architectures, requirement and baseline management, LAN/WAN and Network engineering. Experience in automated tools supporting system engineering activities; 5 years’ experience in a successful (i.e. in operation) large scale development programme, preferably in the AirC2 or related domain; Practical experience in technical and/or management responsibilities leading technical teams and/or projects.
Language Proficiency:
A thorough knowledge of one of the two NATO languages, both written and spoken, is essential and some knowledge of the other is desirable.
NOTE: Most of the work of the NCI Agency is conducted in the English language.
