Service Support Worker
Location: The Grange Hospital, Llanfrechfa Grange Hospital, Llanfrechfa, Cwmbran NP44 8YN.
Contract type: Casual

Hours: As and when required (flexible)
Salary: £10.90 per hour
Driving Requirement: UK manual driving licence

Based out of Grange University Hospital, a day in the life of a Service Support Worker will involve:

  • Escorting patients to assigned departments.
  • Collecting prescriptions to speed up their discharge.
  • Providing emotional support/pastoral care to patients and their families and close friends while they await treatment.
  • Ensuring patients have food/drink while waiting for long hours.
  • Driving patients home when discharged and making sure they are safely settled at home.
  • Signposting and referring patients to other sources of support in the community.

Please note that this service runs from 10am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday (including bank holidays) and successful candidate will be expected to commit to up to 12-hour shifts (flexible days).

To be a successful Service Support Worker:

  • Do you have a full UK manual driving licence, held for a minimum of two years?
  • Do you have a knowledge of services provided by the NHS and Social Care?
  • Are you thoughtful, caring and patient?
  • Are you happy to be flexible?

There is no personal care or giving out of medication for this role.
