An exciting opportunity to head up the Shelter Project Manager Ethiopia

 role for a leading international NGO working in Ethiopia North Amhara.

What we are looking for

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified, resilient and dynamic Shelter Project Manager Ethiopia North, Amhara.

More About the Role

The Shelter Project Manager is responsible for assessing shelter needs, developing project proposals, overseeing the implementation of shelter and infrastructure projects, and supervising shelter teams across various project locations.

 What you will do

Adherence to NRC policies, guidance, and procedures.

Contribute to the development of the country-wide first-line, non-first line, and settlement structure responses priorities in Shelter core competence, and initiate, and participate in the development and implementation of Shelter projects.

Coordinate and support the Sub-national Shelter cluster and refugee response coordination platforms on the formation and smooth functioning of the Shelter/ES/NFI cluster coordination meetings in region

Work with Shelter Officers and Assistants and support the implementation of timely, quality, and inclusive shelter programs in the project location in line with the strategies, proposals, and donor requirements.

Provide technical support and ensure high technical quality of the Shelter projects in the target area

Provide regular progress reports on the Shelter project to the WASH and Shelter Specialist.

What you will bring

Assess trends and changes in the context of the Shelter of displacement-affected population, Refugees and Asylum seekers identify the gaps and indicate ways for timely and quality shelter and settlement support.

Contribute to the development of the NRC Shelter strategy and macro-log frame, theories of change on First line, non-first line and Settlement and structure responses, and ensure their link to other NRC Core Competencies.

Work with and represent NRC on the sub national Shelter cluster and refugee coordination meetings

With close coordination with the UNHCR, RRS and Sub-national ES/NFI Cluster, coordinate and contribute to the coordination outcomes.

Work with the respective stakeholders and relevant authorities sub-national ES/NFI clusters and advocate for the harmonization of the Shelter program in Ethiopia

Build the capacity of the Shelter technical team for the smooth, timely, and quality implementation of shelter programming according to the prioritized need.

What we offer

Duty station: Ethiopia North, Amhara. Ethiopia.

Contract: 10 Months (Fixed-terms, renewable based on performance, and need for position)

Travel: Regular travel within Ethiopia and occasional travel internationally.

Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s Ethiopia national salary scale
