Are you a retail superstar who’s passionate about helping make a difference?
Are you ready to lead a team that represents the British Red Cross in your local community?
Helping people in crisis begins at your local charity shop.
We are looking for a Shop Manager who would relish the challenge of getting our friendly charity shop in Amersham back up and running again (shop is currently closed). With retail supervisory experience and an ability to get the best out of an amazing team, we would welcome you on board to run a busy, profitable charity shop in the heart of your local community. Although the shop is situated away from the high street, it has always had good footfall due to the parking facilities.
You’ll be part of a team representing the British Red Cross to a high standard and embody our core values, whilst making a difference to the lives of people in crisis across the UK and abroad.
A day in the life of a Shop Manager will involve:
Running a profitable, customer-focussed shop that is the ‘window of the British Red Cross’ on the high street. From working on the shop floor, to coordinating activity “behind the scenes”, no two days are the same.
Designing the perfect layout and creating a brilliant shopping environment that helps connect our customers to our cause whilst offering an excellent customer experience in store.
Being responsible for achieving financial targets and inducting, training, and managing new staff and volunteers.
Retailing with a difference
“I’m not delivering to a profit target to enhance someone’s personal wealth – I’m making a real -visible – contribution to supporting the work of my chosen Charity” – Joanne, Regional Retail Manager
To be a successful Shop Manager, you’ll need:

To know how to get the best out of people. With proven management skills, you know how to develop and inspire your team.
To deliver outstanding customer service and be comfortable with organisational and cash handling duties.
To be commercially savvy with a good understanding of financial targets and measures, using your initiative to achieve fantastic results.
Proven IT skills.
Closing date for application is 23.59 on Wednesday 12th July 2023 with interviews to follow.
