Position Title: Social Media Associate

Reports to: Social Media Manager

Location Boston, MA or Remote U.S.| Less than 5% travel

Position Type: Full-time

 

Position Overview

The Social Media Associate, under the direction of the Social Media Manager, supports the day-to-day organic social media development and publishing in order to increase and engage the supporter base. Serving as a primary communicator with Partners In Health’s (PIH) more than 500k+ fans and followers, the Associate creates everyday content, monitors conversations, and reports on performance. As a key member of the Digital team, this role must be able to manage multiple assignments and collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments and sites in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Social Media Manager, create and write strong/engaging content, develop a regular timely publishing schedule and optimize as needed.
  • Oversee the day-to-day organic social media content publishing.
  • Consult with content producers on social direction, content, and assets needs (photos, videos, gifs, graphics, etc.), and production of deliverables.
  • In collaboration with the Social Media Manager, responsible for planning and execution of community events and partnerships, influencer activations, podcast distributions, and other relevant tasks.
  • Monitor PIH’s brand on social media platforms and via BrandWatch.Engage with the online community and respond to comments. Identify opportunities to influence public perception through audience engagement.
  • Measure and report on relevant key performance indicators across platforms. Update and distribute weekly and monthly dashboards.
  • Stay up-to-date with latest social media best practices and technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field, and 2-3 years of experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in implementing social and digital campaigns and communications preferred.
  • A strong writing background including experience writing copy for a variety of digital platforms, under tight deadlines.
  • Understand of social media and digital analytics (native platforms, google analytics)
  • Interest and knowledge of new and emerging social and digital industry trends.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work occasional nights and weekends.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments and sites.
  • Interest in social justice is strongly desirable.
