  • University degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading units and/or in similar significant leadership roles at appropriate level.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in creating and developing diverse, inclusive and high performing teams through the application of inclusive leadership principles and practice.
  • Extensive experience in military planning and execution of out-of-area operations matured in NATO and national environments.
  • Extensive experience in logistics, including procurement, financial, operational and deployment aspects, in a senior leadership position in a sizeable organisation, normally acquired in an international organisation and/or in a national public administration (preferably in military area).
  • Thorough knowledge of modern depot and transportation operations and techniques.
  • High degree of flexibility and agility to adapt to a changing environment and to lead change implementation.
  • Diplomacy and the interpersonal skills necessary to promote international cooperation and conduct large international meetings effectively.
  • Ability to facilitate/present persuasively to gain buy-in and effective negotiations skills to achieve desired outcomes including business growth.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time and work effectively under pressure while producing high-quality products under short-notice deadlines.
  • Ability to develop resourceful and effective solutions to complex problems (including HR), ability to set performance goals and expectations, to develop policy and metrics, to measure performance and to engage problems early to mitigate risk and redirect performance.
  • Comprehensive experience in project management.
  • Specialised knowledge in the area of operational logistics support for deployment operations.
  • Knowledge of organisational and intermediate level maintenance facilities and operations.
  • Practical experience in military command responsibilities.
  • Prince 2 or other similar Project Management methodologies
  • Fluency (C1) in Italian is desired.

POST DETAILS

  • This post will become vacant as of 1 November 2024.
  • Initial duration of the assignment will be for 3 years. The contract may be renewed, but will not exceed the definite tenure of 9 years.
  • Duty travel expected, in accordance with NATO policy, in support of approved operations and missions, on a case-by-case basis, by traveling to theatre/mission locations, especially where Agency personnel are/will be serving.
