TITLE: Specialist-Digital Content Development (Consultant) LOCATION: Dhaka, Bangladesh DEPARTMENT: Human Rights, Education, and Empowerment REPORTS TO: Technical Director Education, USAID’s Esho Shikhi Activity DATE: Starting May 21, 2023 (Tentative) for up to Twelve weeks (Three months contract) POSITION SUMMARY: The Specialist-Digital Content Development (Consultant’s) primary responsibility is to ensure that high-quality digital training materials are designed and developed for teacher training. This includes working with the technical team to identify the training and curriculum-related digital content required for the relevant staff, teachers, and students, as planned. The Consultant – Digital Content Development is also responsible for coordinating with the technical teams within Esho Shikhi and with vendors for all digital content development initiatives. The position may require frequent interaction with manual writers, illustrators, and digital content makers. Esho Shikhi will coordinate all relevant approvals through USAID and GoB. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The main responsibility of the Specialist-Digital Content Development Consultant is to ensure high-quality digital training materials are designed and developed for teacher training. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Job Responsibilities: Responsible for developing the digital content and providing training and orientation to the Master Trainers, relevant GoB officials, and project staff. Responsible for overall digital content development in coordination with the technical team. Assist the Admin team in bidding to select appropriate and capable vendors (production houses) to produce digital content. Draft text for Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)/ Terms of Reference (ToR) to be signed with the vendors along with the issuance of work/purchase order, in consultation with the CoP, Technical Education Director, and Admin team. Writing script in consultation with Esho Shikhi technical team, DPE experts, and illustrators with sourcing/developing scripts, artwork, and storyboarding. Assist the Esho Shikhi team in determining AV design and AV formats for digital materials considering usability for the target groups and the dissemination media involved. Work closely with the selected vendor and school’s authorities to prepare teachers and students for filming and videotaping classroom teaching practices. Facilitating workshop and technical meetings with DPE, NCTB, and A2i Carry out pre- and post-production tasks as part of the developmental process of the digital content in coordination with technical teams within USAID Esho Shikhi Project and with vendors. Cooperate with the Administration to enter copyright agreements with related vendors, scriptwriters, illustrators, or consultants. Ensure necessary logistics to develop the content scripting, shooting plan, scenario, and imagery for creating specific digital content. Engage celebrity artists, performers, anchors, authors, illustrators, singers, and reciters as appropriate for developing high-quality digital content and perform proper video filming and shooting activities with such celebrities involved, as suggested by CoP/Technical Education Director. Collect draft digital content from the vendor, arrange for the staff review session, compile feedback and comments for improvement, and finalize the digital content. Carry out any other relevant tasks assigned by CoP and Technical Education Director. Requirements: A minimum of 5 years of digital content-related professional work experience. Experience in documentary/short filmmaking, video-editing, shooting, producing, and airing AV education materials. Prior experience in teaching-learning material development at the primary stage. Previous success in working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people and organizations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to work with multiple priorities simultaneously.
