The Systems Integration Unit is seeking a Specialist with advanced technical skills and extensive experience in planning, designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications and software systems. The main responsibilities involve leading the technical performance of development projects, merging strategic thinking, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration with teams to ensure that software projects are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the organizational goals and objectives.

The position will be based in the operations center of the Americas, located in the Campus of Palmira, Colombia. And it will offer hybrid working conditions.

Collaborate with stakeholders, including business analysts and product managers, to understand and improve software requirements.

Convert business requirements into workable technical specifications and development plans.

Execute tasks with innovation and creativity to ensure that the solutions are aligned with business requirements and the concerns are addressed in accordance with organizational policies.

Select appropriate technologies, frameworks, and patterns to satisfy project requirements.

Ensure that the software architecture incorporates improved security practices.

Share practical experience to enhance the technical competencies of the team.

Suggest improvements in the software development practices.

Contribute to project planning and estimation.

Document the design solutions provided and report deviations and improvement activities.

Qualifications and requirements

u25CF Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related fields.

u25CF Master’s degree, Specialization or training courses in computer science, software engineering, or similar disciplines.

u25CF Significant knowledge and experience in software development, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.

u25CF Proven practical experience as a software architect, demonstrating the ability to design complex software systems.

u25CF High expertise in programming languages including Java, HTML, CSS, Git, and PL-SQL.

u25CF Project management skills for coordinating and prioritizing architectural efforts.

u25CF Commitment to code quality, testing, and software practices.

u25CF Competence in database administration and configuration.

u25CF Added value to the position: Knowledge and experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Satellite applications of the ERP, and other in-house developed or third-party existing business applications.

u25CF Familiarity with software development methodologies.

u25CF Skilled in handling and use of virtual tools and applications.

u25CF Advanced level of English (oral and written).

This is a nationally recruited position placed at a BG08, on a scale of 14 levels, with level 14 being the highest.  This is a Colombian national search and will be managed through a fixed-term contract of a one (1) year period, subject to a probation period according to the local legislation, and is renewable depending on performance and availability of resources.
